Or maybe that should be 'The Po' Man's Robo 'Zilla'. For those so poor
they can only afford the first two letters of the word 'poor'. =)
Here's my version of Amadan's deck:
Stronghold: Mountain Keep of the Dragon
Total Dynasty: 41

Chrysanthemum Festival
Emperor's Peace
The Hidden Emperor

2x Kitsuki Yasu
3x Mirumoto Daini
3x Agasha Gennai
2x Togashi Yoshi
2x Mirumoto Sukune

Holdings:
1x The Master Painter
3x Sanctified Temples
3x Gold Mines
2x Hiruma Dojos
3x Jade Works
3x Merchant Caravans
3x Small Farms
Dynasty Commentary:
The biggest change to this deck and the most important, is the exchange of
the Shinsei Shrines for Yasuki Taka, the Master Painter, and the
Sanctified Temples. The fact is, most of us don't have Shrines. Beyond
that, I, personally, get physically ill from playing any deck with Shrines
in it. =P
I'm sure that most of you know the infamous 'Taka Tricks'. For those who
don't, after you've bowed the Master Painter, or a Sanctified Temple,
simply bow Taka and one of your small farms, or merchant caravans unbow
the honor holding and- Bow it again! If you have more Taka's in play,
repeat as desired. (Yes, this does mean that you can bow the Master
Painter four times in a turn- Once initially and, one more time, for
each Taka you have in play. That's 12 honor a turn right there.) Whee! Are
we having fun yet? =)
This deck is a little slow to start out, but once it goes, it's gone! =)
One more thing, if you're not playing with Death of the Ki-Rin, take out
Doom of the Brotherhood. There are two many people playing Kisada's
Funeral and even though there are Rings in this deck, being slowed down
for two or three turns can often times get you killed.
Total Fate: 42
Spells:
3x Walking the Way
1x Biting Steel
Items:
2x Tetsubo
Terrain:
3x Entrapping Terrain
Actions:
Ring of Void
Ring of Earth
Ring of Fire
3x Strike with No-Thought
3x An Exhibition
3x Breach of Etiquette
2x Unrequitted Love
2x For the Empire
3x Iaijutsu Duels
3x Iaijutsu Challenges
2x Rallying Cry
3x Refugees
3x Block Supply Lines
3x Superior Tactics
Fate Commentary:
First off, I don't have the Clan sword, if I did I'd be using it. My
significant other (Daidoji Rekai from #L5R, hey today is the anniversary
of the 3rd year we've been together! This, and the fact that I
continuously play Kyuden Hitomi, just goes to prove that I -am- a
masochist ;p) keeps a firm grasp on the Crane Sword as well. Instead, I
put in a couple of tetsubo's and 3 strike with no-thought. heh, Tetsubo's
are ancestral enough for me, thank you very much.
All of the Rings are fairly easy for Dragon to get into play, this should
help you get around that pesky Kisada's Funeral thing. If you want to be
more proactive about it though, I put in a Biting Steel and a couple of
Rallying Cries (I may add a Counter attack as well), these, combined with
my Mirumoto Sukune's and numerous shugenja for the Biting steel can
probably score me a quick province.
Remember when Taka was multi bowing those honor producing holdings?
Wouldn't it be nifty if you could get even more honor out of that?
Welcome, exhibition! It doubles the honor from a holding and can really
help your honor sky rocket.
Now, remember, this deck is slow to start, this gives you a lot of good
chances to use those breaches, and you can use them on the Crane, Unicorn
and Lions first turn anyway.
Oh, the only other thing is Unrequitted Love. I just put that in because I
love the card. Bow Yoritomo, bow Kakita Yoshi, bow Toshimoko! If you want
to be -real- mean, put in a couple of remorseful seppukku. hmmm, I might
just do that when I get home.
Alrighty, comments and questions are welcomed. The deck works well, but if
you've got a suggestion to make it work better, I won't say no. Alright,
for the Honor of Greysku... er, Hitomi and the Dragons- Let's go kick
some boot-ay!
"I just love it when a good deck comes together."
