What else do you need?   His cost is 6, so he comes out first turn, he 
has a PH, and he's a tattooed monk.   That means more use for kihos for 
Dragon (Chasing Osano-Wo, even on Tashima, is a good force bonus), plus 
the versatility of smacking down a Dragon tattoo and munching a province 
from one of the weaker clans.

Oh, and then there's his force/chi bonuses for rings in play.   If you 
happen to come up against the brotherhood, he's an easy 4/4 (in battle)
