Hoshi's 700 years old. There are probably people closer to
Shoju's line who could be champion - like Aramoro.

true, but Hoshi is a closer descendent to Bayushi than Aramoro. being there 
was just 300 years of daimyo's before him as opposed to 1000 years for 
Aramoro.
