They didn't leave the Crane on purpose. The Crane RPG Book explains that the
emperor ordered the Yasuki to stop their illicit dealings. The Yasuki refused,
and were kicked out of the Crane Clan. They then rapidly joined ranks with the
Crab, which prompted the Crab/Crane war.

Revenge is not the way of the Dragon. We are a clann of understanding.
Hopefully, we and the Agasha can come to an understanding of why the Agasha
left, and they can rejoin us.

Personally, I'd like to see the Agasha become a family with no clan, travelling
Rokugan and demonstrating the wonders of the Transform spell...
