<< The problem Kuro Sensei gives dueling decks is that it makes the duels
refusable. If you knock them to, oh, -17 honor, they can't use Kuro's
ability anymore. If you knock them to -10, and they use Kuro, then you
can annihilate them with a Shame. If you dishonor and kill someone,
they lose even more honor.
Lion, Mantis, Monk, Phoenix, and Toturi's Army are the ones that can use
Kuro Sensei. Lion, Monk, and Phoenix don't like to drop below 0 honor.
Honorable Toturi doesn't either, because then Seppun Nakao goes
traitor. Corrupt Toturi doesn't stand a chance against a deck with a
smattering of dishonor in it. At worst, they seppuku, and that's one
less personality you have to worry about. >>
If youre facing anything like my toturi's deck, or kitsu tombs deck, you'll
never have the time to draw the shames, most games last six rounds with
those
decks. And if you do, i sepuku, or use the favor, in the lion deck i can
usualy get a winds truth. The only true problem i face with lion is a true
scorpion dishonor deck. ::Bow:: but even with the scorpion alliance, the
dragon just doesnt have what it takes to make it truly tournament viable
strategy, unless they want to start playing HDM-unfrindly cards like Peckle
Bombs and Dark Lords Favor.
Also consider this, in most tournaments you can lose a game and still get to
the final four, top eight what have you. All's A toturi army player, or
lion
speed does if they lose against you, is watch the dishonor deck get trampled
by a shadowlands deck. (it happened in the first round of the Atlanta
Kotei,
it was brutal) and then move on against other military decks. What is
brutal
is the scorpion horde decks. Anyone have some cool ideas? Ive started
building mine with Dying Efforts, call to arms, inner fires and what not
anysuggestions? >>
Try the THC. In my area i've been accused of cheating so many times because
the old L5R players don't believe I can be that fast. So I always say lets
call a judge. I have taken 2nd in the four last tournaments and I only lose
in the final round usually due to an early failed attack. Senai has been a
god send my deck has yet to lose. Hantai sensei isn't much of a problem to
get around because no one plays him except for me.
