Our focus?

Greetings, bretheren.

Allow me initially to apologise for a "me, too" post, but
that is what this is.

While we are certainly not the only faction in the game to be
able to use tattoos (Phoenix has old non-Gold tattooed
personlities
(granted, a short list of them, but long enough to get the Ring
of Air with our Dragon Tattoo) and Shadowlands (may or may not,
depending on Kokujin's storyline pans out)), we certainly ARE
the only faction to be able to use them widely as a theme, let
alone build a deck containing only tattooed personalities. Thus,
I always await new tattoos with at least as much baited breath
as I do new personalities. New personalities are an excellent
thing, but new tattoos can improve existing personalities as
well. About the only thing that I ever anticipate more as a
fiendish Dragon Clan enthusiast would be a new stronghold. Thus,
I feel that if we continue to see new tattoos we will be more
likely to succeed at whichever victory condition we feel we wish
to pursue at the moment. The flexibility of tattoos allows the
same personality to be an excellent duelist (Torii (yeah,
blah)/Firefly/Orochi/Snow Crane/Dragon), a great
tactician/defender (Phoenix/Crab/Dragon), a strong attacker
(Mountain/Dragonfly/Hummingbird/Dragon), powerful shugenja/monk
(Dragon), and so forth. THAT is flexibility.

    Get the ideas cracking.

I also agree with Zembusan's final paragraph. I have never
wanted a focus to the clan. I'll admit, not all of you are
asking to be as focussed as Crab or Shadowlands or Crane. And
icnreases in our stengths in XYZ (dueling, honour, whatever) are
always welcome (especially dueling). But I greatly prefer a
flexible, unfocussed, interesting Dragon over a focussed one.
Some of us have once said, "In a duel, Dragon don't want to even
have to focus to win." Perhaps this can be broadened to the
entire deck.

Regardless, the clan's infuriating lack of focus is actually
what makes it so interesting to me. We play Dragon not because
they have a good, strong, and clear path to victory, but because
they are so open to so many different off-the-wall deck ideas
that may actually work fairly well. And that is why I play
Dragon.

    Regards. <bow>

May have two weapons attached. While he has two weapons
attached, add 1 to the Focus value of cards Focussed by him.

humility guide your steps, and may peace dog your heels."

Mmmm. Gloomf.
