Brothers,
well, I got to go to the 1 heart tourney in Sacramento this past
weekend. For full reports you can go to the Deathseeker, but I
thought I would throw in how I did real quick.
37 folks showed up and jumped in for the 6 rounds of swiss.
After the 6 rounds I was 3-3, I was able to win vs a Crane and
2 Unicorns, but lost to 2 Lions and the Horde. All of the games
except the Lions were close, I definately did not run away with
any easy games.
Somehow with my 3-3 I got into the top 16, unfortunately
my next game wasn't so good. I hit a brick wall by the name of
Justin Grassier (one of the TOP locals in Sac) and his Scorp
Military deck, I actually thought I had a chance at one point, for
a turn or two anyways =) he quickly proved me wrong. But hey,
top 16 is a new one for me, especially in a tourney of that size,
so I feel pretty good with how I did. Justin ended up fourth, the
tourney was won by a Lion, played by Ash Thomason, nice job
Ash.
I did get the top Dragon honors, netting me a nice copy of
Way Of The Dragon, and there was a ton of product that was
given out during the tourney to the players, all in all it was a
blast. We made $1500.00 for the Red Cross, not too shabby.
My 40 plus into the box 'o greed helped, too bad I pulled almost
all crap, there was awesome stuff in there too, Imp swords,
ALL of the Thunders (both of those groups donated by the
same guy!) so some folks did get really good pulls, just not me
=)
A great time was had by all and I got home almost 18 hours
after I had left the morning before. We need more good causes
like this, it makes for great tourneys. (playing L5R AND helping
the Red Cross, it's almost too easy..........)
