Dark Secrets Tournament report

Last Saturday we had the first storyline tournament in Spain. 58 players
tried to help their Winds to know
some embarrasing secret about the champion of the loser in the final.
At the end, Scorpion, playing Sezaru, managed to win against an Unicorn
deck in a breathtaking final round,
when both players had only one province and honor victory was far away.
I played with a dueling/honor deck.

Round 1 - Shosuro Gesseri - Shosuro Gardens/Tsudao
I was expecting all the Scorpions to play with Yogo Towers, but he was
running a courtier dishonor, with
Nagoris and Kaukatsu. However Kaukatsu arrived late and I was on the
mid-thirties by then. He began to
send me losses, and I couldn't reach 40 when Hoshi arrived, and two
provinces fell quickly. His Imperial
Funeral appeared and we both bowed almost everyone, he only left Aroru
with the sword and I left Chosai
with the sword. In my following turn I attacked with everybody, Chosai
destroyed a province and, altough
Aroru destroyed half my army with Come One at a Time, Hoshi slaughtered
him and destroyed the last province.

Round 2 - Doji Dimas - Kosaten Shiro/Tsudao
Money is not the best thing, it's the only thing. While I began with a
Chieko cheap and a Jade Works, he put
two Silk Works, a Hiruma Dojo and a Marketplace. Then Reju, Rekai,
several Kurohitos and Kaiten destroyed
my provinces without any real opposition.
Doji Dimas reached the fourth position in the end.

Round 3 - Doji Javi - Kosaten Shiro/Tsudao
Deja vú. Against Javi I did it better and we maintained a honor run,
with his holdings against my duels (I mean arts,
because I didn't see any challenge in these three rounds). However, when
the run was reaching the end, his suspicions
resolved and three Nagoris finished the thing.

Round 4 - Akodo Ryuken - Ancient Halls of the Lion/Tsudao
I love to fight Lions. I was winning arts and a challenge as he
destroyed a province. later he made a big mistake when
he divided his attack, and when I used a Iaijutsu Duel with Domotai he
spent the cards he should have used with Tacticians,
and he lost the duel and the chance to destroy any province. Finally,
after destroying another province, attacked one of the
Campsites when I was on 32 honor. I sent Satsu with Bitter, won a duel
against a Kenseiko and Winds truthed the honor
gain for the battle to reach 41 and win my second point.

Round 5 - Otaku Bouhoku - Utaku Palaces/Tsudao
Unicorns without horses. He never was able to attack and in the honor
run his holdings weren't enough to overcome
my duels and Wind's Truth.

3 - 2

I finished in the 23rd position out of 58 players and the 3rd Dragon out
of 6. The other two dragons reached the Top 16
and one of them the Top 8. Another of the dragon players played an
Enlightnenment deck which put the five rings in play
two times.
