well, housegruard sword can come fast in play, but he has to have many guys in play to see the bonus combo.

if you play military
other phoenix peeps are not very strong, so you should keep the strenght balance on your side. at this point, he has to get strenght by boosts or kills.. terrains will help you in this way. storm of war is deadly against a phoenix too...

if you play honor: entrappings and torrential don't look at your oppenant. if you play campsite, you will be able to play flaterry (if he send only the sword bearer, you can have enoguh force, if he send the army, you will draw a lot). if you play sorrows path, kill the shuggies or send them home, he can only save one ^_^

Asako towers is extremely tough in the mid to late game, but is also very
weak in the early game. Poor gold production, weak province strength and an
ability that requires the box to be unbowed means they can be military
blitzed or turbo honored out easier than most decks.

Basically, if an Asako towers opponent has managed to have the time to get
out 3-5 shugenja's, a samurai, the clan sword and shiba house guard, well,
you've probably lost already. You've got to go all out and make sure in
never get's to that point. You can't beat the towers in a waiting game.

Brothers,

over the last couple of weeks, our local Phoenix players re-discovered the
brokeness of their clan, as they realized the power of Asako Towers. Feels
like ExJade, actually... 

Anyway, does anyone have ideas how to stop a Samurai with the sword and
the Shiba Houseguard? This combo is worth 20+ force which you can't target
with actions, and due to Walking the Way and Imperial Gift, it shows up
at least every second game. If not more often. Assume 3-5 Shugenja ready
to cancel everything you might throw at the bastard, of course.
