I come back from a 5-day weekend to find upwards of 200 emails, most of them flames, against each other, on this list. What is the clan coming to?
After reading all that mail, it seems as if a line is being drawn and two sides are gearing up for a civil war. All of our tainted and corrupted brothers and sisters are cheering their "victory" of the alliance with Tamori, while the purists are screaming that how evil the taint is, etc. Of course I could be reading into things and or confusing myself (200 emails will do that do you).
Now, I'm not going to make personal attacks, so don't jump the gun people and flame me. Anyways, for those of you who agree with tainting or corrupting the clan or those who see the alliance with Tamori as a good thing I want you to go back to the beginning of Jade Edition and look at how it started and why.
The Phoenix had all of 3 in-clan personalities, while most of the others had 12. Why do you think that was? Was it because during the Clan War they had succumbed, more than any other clan to the easy path of corruption? When the corrupt carrot was offered, they happily accepted it and the story result was a devastated clan.
Now, in the balance that AEG is striving for I doubt in any future set we'll be as limited as the Phoenix once were, but storywise, the Dragon will lose.
On another note, all those Hitomi nay-sayers who've been watching and waiting will rise up and say I told you so. The Dragon are evil. The Phoenix, who more often than naught, embrace power, only to be corrupted by it, will invariably look like the good guys.
Just some thoughts. I hope each of you considers the path you've set us upon.
