Hmm...in Tamori's defense, re-reading the quote, that could be interpreted 
as a sort of pre-emptive self-defense, since the "I might have proven 
vulnerable" comment kind of makes it sound like he was afraid the Lion and 
the Phoenix would find him and kill him.  It doesn't make allying with him 
any better of a choice, but screwing with us in self-defense is a slightly 
nobler motive than doing it just to keep Daigotsu's plans uninterrupted...
