John, glad to see this has now come back down to a reasonable level :). =20
Please allow me a few words here as the official AEG rep here in Europe, =

the guy who got the European Championship in Metz in the first place (but=

not the Challenge booth, that was worked out w/o my input).

1)  The challenge booth is not fair.  We all know that.  This of course i=

the catch-22 of L5R.  To have the players interact in the story sometimes=

brings about situations that are not quite balanced.  I know regardless o=
f=20
the outcome, I would rather know fans got to participate in then just rea=
d=20
about it (as in when the Dragon lost the Daisho in the first place ;)). =20
Just ask Elijas who says he likes the GenCon UK story arc.  I say I am ha=
ppy=20
for you :) (Now tell me it is a logical storyline decision for Dragon and=
 I=20
will chew your head off :(!!).

Bootomline if you feel this is too unfair is to take complaints to Rich,=20
Shawn, or Ray.  If you would like I would do it for you, but I fear it is=
=20
too late.  As an aside, I am very confident that any victory for either s=
ide=20
will carry a heavy price, and am very confident that Rich will take the b=
est=20
care he can of both sides.

Your thoughts on this or any other options you can think of at this late=20
date?

2) Paul's card.  I do not know all the ins and outs of Pauls card, but th=
e=20
bottom line for me is AEG blessed the card so it is legal.  I really do n=
ot=20
think Paul did anything more than ask timely questions (and for the recor=
d I=20
did not get any influence over my image ;p!!), and again as AEG blessed t=
he=20
whole thing, more power to Paul.  It should be a dead issue imho.

3)  Rich will be at the tourney, so I feel very confident that the result=
s=20
will be accurately recorded.  Again we know this is not fair, but what I =
am=20
asking is that we do not confuse game issues with personal issues.

Now game wise your options are limited to convincing Rich/AEG to not have=
=20
the challenge booth or deciding on whether you are or are not playing in =
the=20
challenge booth.  Again, do you see any other options at this time?

So you know I am very good friends with Paul.  Still I have not been=20
comfortable with some of the personal issues that have been coming from P=
aul=20
either since this whole challenge booth has been set up.  I have talked t=
o=20
him very directly twice about this.  He has his perspective, and you are=20
free to like it or not.  I do not.

I am even considering boycotting the challenge booth as I have been so=20
uncomfortable with Pauls attitude.  Not sure that will make you feel any=20
better, but I thought it only fair to state for the record :/.
