Nice deck, Colm. Any chance that you would take it to GenCon? ;-)
>Dynasty (41)
>9 Events:
>Imperial Gift
>Welcome Home
>- Just so I can keep honour threshold a bit longer
>Imperial Ambassadorship
>Shogun's Fealty
>Carpenter Wall Falls
>Solar Eclipse
>- There are several fast IK variants at the moment that this deck has
>trouble beating
>Short Season
>Lost Souls
>The Power Resides in the Mountains
Maybe Future Laid Bare? In ST blitz constructs most your Fate deck is on the
table anyway, so with TLB you can plan around you opponent's defence and
make sure that you take out Personlaities in Provinces, and not stupid Gold
Holdings.
How good is PRiM, if you plan on having the RoVoid on table as soon as
possible?
>13 Holdings:
>3x Corrupt Iron Mine
>3x Corrupt Silver Mine
>2x Gold Mine
>3x Small Farm
>2x Gifts and Favours
>
>17 Peeps:
>3x Voitagi
>3x Nyima
>2x Rosanjin
>3x Shaitung
>3x Shunsen
>3x Vedau
What, no Hoshi Wayan? Heretic! ;-)
I too used Shuggies + Walk to bring out the RoVoid in my Corrupt blitz (or
Scout + Deadly to seal the game). In retrospect, though, that is perhaps not
the optimal way of handling the matter. It forces one to play with Shunsen,
who is really sub-optimal for blitz, and is besides a bit too slow. I have
not tested it, but I agree that I dropping Shunsen for, say, Ik'krts and
relying in Regions of Rokugan + Togashi's Shrine sounds much better. And
Shaitung for Hogai?
When H&E comes out, I will try this out, together with Bane of the Bastard
to ensure good a better Dynasty flow (admittely, BotB will not work out too
well if one has lots of Events).
>2 Regions:
>Ruins of Otosan Uchi
>Toturi's Grave
Cities of Gold round off all those 2's into 3's, but I guess that is just a
matter of taste. Won't go with Shrine.
>Fate (40)
>9 Followers:
>3x Skeletal Troops
>3x Zombie Troops
>3x Light Infantry
Hidao Spawn? Will bring any peep into Province-busting category.
>2 Spells:
>2x Walking the Way
If you use them, I suggest a full set. Likewise with Tests, below.
>28 Actions:
>2x A Test of Courage
>2x Kharmic
Another Time instead of Kharmic, maybe? Loosing a peeps is still loosing a
peep, and you want to keep the heat on. Just a though - haven't experimented
with either.
>2x Investigation
>3x Mountain Tattoo
>2x Dragon Tattoo
>2x Charge
>3x Rallying Cry
>3x Sneak Attack
>3x Deadly Ground
How often do you get to pull out Sneak + Deadly? Deadly seems to be the only
card here that would benefit from Sneak, and it can be difficult to built
such combos when one's instincts scream to empty the Fate hand every turn.
Maybe add Refugees - they remove defenders and all protect against military.
What other cards would go with Sneak... Arrows from the Woods, Spearmen,
Night Battle?
>2x Superior Tactics
>3x We Will Have Revenge
>3x Take the Initiative
I found a set of Kolat Assassins (or Masters) useful, as I could take out a
key defender before the final Big Crunch.
>Ring of the Void
>
>Thoughts behind the deck selections:
One way to deal with PK and Dishonour is, of course, just to make the deck
even faster that you opponent won't have the time to Shame or Kolat, at
least repeatedly.
Abandon all restraint! *grin*
