> Nice deck, Colm. Any chance that you would take it to GenCon? ;-)

Possibly. Depends how solid I feel it will be compared to my other decks.
Tiredness is a factor I have to consider. I'd only play this if I really
knew I was going to be too fatigued in a tournaments later stages.

Notice I have no items. jsut the fact that I'm getting them over my opponent
is good enough reason to play these 2 events.

Nice idea., must check it out. The Events will generally vary depending on
personal taste anyway. There is no hard and fast rule on what you choose;
just make sure they advance your goal.

I generally drop TtI even when I go first. The worst that can happen is your
opponent draws as well.

Too expensive though I know the potential he lends the deck. Anything that
doesn't come of SH and SF/Corrupt gold I felt was too clunky for the deck.
I'm going for 2nd turn provinces in this deck. I basically consider him a 9G
Dragon peep for this deck; that's more than I can afford for this blitz.

Agreed. Though a mountain tatt and follower plus discard cracks 6PS
provinces. He's not ideal, but I don't see many other options unless you go
out of clan and even then the choices aren't great.

I have

If I do go the RoR+Togashi's shrine route I willl drop shunsen but not
shaitung. She's just too easy to play in the deck. Ik'krt was also something
I was considering. He's no Nyima or Rosanjin, but he's 1st turn.

I've found the GS doesn't need any rounding. SH and any holding will buy me
a peep, most holdings/holding+SF will buy a follower/action. I've aimed to
have a second turn follower bought off corrupt gold and a peep off the SH.
Rosanjin is a dodgy card in the deck with his HR I know, but I am going all
guns to the wire in the deck.

Seemed good at the time. Not viable 2nd or 3rd turn though. I replaced them
with meta cards/force pumps. I haven't found I missed that extra force (nut
fond of the draw back either)

With a 40 card fate deck and the events, I'm finding running 2 of anything
is working ok. As I said in my original post though, it's hard to gauge the
percentages; you just don't know what you're going to face in a tournament
sometimes. One day it'll be all blitz and SLH, the next it's all IK,
dishonour and Crane.

If they've managed to get one big defender to duel me in battle, I want to
be sure I can take them with me too. I want my opponent to feel the price as
well.

Quite often actually. Even so, I think this selection is a throwback to a
previous version I was running with Farmlands and 2x SATW. In hindsight, I
could probably make some more savvy choices here.

Deadly seems to be the only

As I said above, in hindsight this is a throwback to a previous version. I
will probably mix up the battle actions for sneak and go SATW or Arrows.
Stand will deal with larger units, but Arrows removes presence from battle
for actions like block and entrapping. It is once again a percentages thing.

I was toying with the idea of The Masters Imprisoned actually. It's a unique
unfortunately. Kolat is hella expensive not just in gold but also in honour.
By the time I've got my opponent to their last province, I'm generally way
below -10 or something as I bring out about 2-3 corrupt holdings in the
early game. At that stage kolat can become unplayable in the deck just when
you need it.

All well and good, but I've played against and with those decks myself, and
I really felt I needed the protection.
WWHR I have found amazing in the deck. The fact that I'm potentially killing
a unit during my opponents turn is an added bonus to an unconditional
cancellation of an honour loss.

As an aside, I've noticed corrupt Scorpion blitz using bonds of fate very
effectively to remove key defenders before battle. The only thing I can see
that we can use in a similar fashion is Make Them Pay. I may try it out this
weekend and see how it runs.

One other thing I will say though is, this is a weak set of 10 events
compared to the SLH and Nezumi-off-the-box based variants. They can utilise
the funeral/suspicions and census/peasant revolt setup (respectively) with
impunity. Damn irritating.
