I played against someone from your playgroup, and he hard-shuffled my deck 4-6 times EVERY time I searched it, and at the beginning of the game, EVERY time we faced one another, and he was not gentle about it. If I face you, or said unnamed player, I WILL NOT allow either of you to shuffle my deck. You can bring a judge over and have them shuffle it, or you can ask me to shuffle further, but I refuse to let people damage my cards. Not unless you want to pay me for the privelege. -Lou > I can see that, but as long as someone is taking care not to > damage your cards, you just have to accept that it's their right > as a player to put a little randomization into your deck. I have been playing with Vaughn Dredarian for *years* now. He shuffles my deck all the time, and over the course of countless games he has *never* harmed a single card, or even a sleeve. Vaughn's merger type shuffle does virtually nothing to wear down cards or sleeves. Riffle shuffles can, but Vaughn does not. If I show up to the table at a tournament, and my opponent has already placed all 4 provinces and drawn his 5 cards, I will usually ask to shuffle, since I did not see my opponent shuffle at all. Btw, sorry for naming names, Zen. Didn't see your post until after I had posted. > -----Original Message----- > From: L5r-ccg-admin at alderac.com [mailto:L5r-ccg-admin at alderac.com]On > Behalf Of LethaNJim at aol.com > Sent: Sunday, April 13, 2003 5:38 PM > To: L5r-ccg at alderac.com > Subject: Re: [L5R-CCG] Riff-shuffling opponents' cards > > > << I played > against someone from your playgroup, and he hard-shuffled my > deck 4-6 times > EVERY time I searched it, and at the beginning of the game, EVERY time we > faced one another, and he was not gentle about it.
